A walk in the park

Did you ever read a book with someone ? if you did even if you are not in the same physical space with them you feel so close to each other, the idea that the other person is reading the same words and ideas entwines you, this could happen if you are watching a move or a show, or even looking at the starts in the sky at the same time.

There are many levels of intimacy and the most powerful one is the spiritual and intellectual intimacy, it builds a strong friendship and defiantly strengthens a love relationship.

There are many magical moments in life that two people can share, and they don't have to be in the same place, they just have to be together in spirit, which not many people who are together in the same place can claim! I see so many people together but worlds apart.

Another level is two people working for a common goal, the comfort of them thriving for the same thing miles away, gives a sense of security and intimacy that words just fall short to describe.

Some people live their lives never getting close enough to any one, they never took a walk through Shakespearian sonnets, or visited the gardens of " Ibn El-qayem" or knew what the labyrinths of the other persons mind and soul are planted with.

very interesting stuff Tamara, Intellectual intimacy is probably the most supreme of all human interactions, it's an un-earthly experience, simply because minds are not bound by time and space..unlike the rest of the human body.

reaching unison..physical unison is a wonderous experience, you can imagine how amazing it would be to reach intellectual unison, it only unlocks its gates to the lucky few, those whose minds are worlds..planets and galaxies in their own right.

the rest..are destined to live unaware of this experience's mere existance..and are content with their blissful ignorence.

You are so right in the lucky few part, its so sad to me to see how apart some of the people getting married are. I know a few couples that share this amazing relationship, at the same time know hundreds who have never been so close, its sad but I guess they are happy in their ignorance!

intimacy is all in the mind i've always believed in that.. there is even an old song i remember called mind sex, which i find so true! its all in the mind.. and sadly only a few give it the time it needs.. some ppl realize it but to maintain it takes more effort so most ppl tend to ignore it..

what a shame i say..

beautiful post and i love the pic u chose, very warm colors interwined in perfect harmony!

Any part of a relationship takes effort and time, but most important willingness. if the relationship is worthwhile we should nurture it to keep it alive even if its a lot of work. Because at the end of the day it is really worth it.

Now the fact that people ignore it is not because it needs time! But because they don't have the depth to share it or they are two closed up.

true, i agree with u, bas inmy humble opinion, time gets ppl a bit closer (il ulfeh wil 3eshreh) and that wud lead to spiritual depth and strength between a couple.

w yes, any relationship needs effort, and maintenance is a hard thing i have to admit..

I personally believe that the great spiritual intimacy is something you have from the beginning and work to improve or you don't ever have, I can see on rare occasions people get it through time, but on RARE occasions ...again this is only my opinion and not a proven scientific fact
